Трибьют записан к 40-летию московской группы "Центр"
"Центр" одна из самых , если можно так выразиться, эволюционирующих советских и российских групп, генезис которой представляет чуть ли не научный интерес. Нет больше в России группы, которая продолжает свою деятельность с 80х и настолько сумела размыть свой жанр от рока до авангарда и экспериментаторства, или даже русского активизма. При этом, конечно же, группа Центр для нас не заканчивается выступлением на "Музыкальном ринге" или песней "Навсегда" а наоборот - только начинается. И конечно же есть большое желание вспомнить советский и российский андеграунд, который не собирает стадионные концерты, вроде Машины времени, ДДТ, Браво, — "Центр" внесли вклад уж точно не меньший в воспитание ряда субкультур и вообще культурной интеллигенции.

Конечно же, песня "Привет тебе" наравне с "Навсегда" и "Тургеневскими женщинами" - это классика. Надо сказать, что не сразу получилось сделать этот кавер и мы сделали пять или шесть демо с разными гармониями, набором инструментов, ритмикой вокала, пока не пришли к той панк-версии с лязгающей и немного гранжевой гитарой и легкой меланхолией в конце. И с текстом тоже экспериментировали: был соблазн осовременить текст, и строчку "Улыбайся двуногому брату" заменить на "улыбайся большому брату", или строчку "В интуристовском театре на сцене Иван Сусанин" - на "В гоголевском театре на сцене Сон в летнюю ночь", но потом пришли к мнению, что хочется сохранить оригинальный текст и вообще оставить только "выжимку" с явными временными "вешками", сохраняя общую динамику. Вот и получилось так, что часть текста мы пожертвовали в пользу быстрой кульминации. Да и пусть эта песня поживет и в нашей версии с укороченными куплетами, не всё же её буква-в-букву повторять. Надеемся, вам понравилось.

"Center" is one of the most evolving Soviet and Russian bands. There is no longer a group in Russia that has continued its activities since the 80s and has so much managed to blur its genre from rock to avant-garde and experimentation, or "Russian activism". At the same time, of course, for us "Center" does not end with a performance in the "Music Ring" (soviet tv show) or the song "Navsegda" (translates "Forever"), but on the contrary - it is just beginning. And, of course, there is a great desire to remember the Soviet and Russian underground, which does not have stadium concerts, such as Mashina Vremeni, DDT, Bravo, - "Center" have made no less contribution to the education of a number of subcultures and the cultural intelligent class in general.

Of course, the song Privet tebe (translates "Hello to you"), along with "Navsegda (tr. "Forever") and "Turgenevskiye zhenschiny" (tr. "Turgenev's women"), is a classic. It was not immediately possible to make this cover and we did five or six demos with different harmonies, a set of instruments, vocal rhythm, until we came to that punk version with a clanking and slightly grunge guitar and a slight melancholy at the end. And they experimented with the text too: there was a temptation to modernize the text, and replace the line "Smile to the two-legged brother" with "smile to the big brother", or the line "In the Intourist theater on the stage of Ivan Susanin" - on "In the Gogol-center theater on the stage A Midsummer Night's Dream" (connection with a fabricated criminal case of Russian director Kirill Serebrennikov), but then we came to the conclusion that we would like to preserve the original text and generally leave only the "squeeze" with obvious temporary soviet "landmarks", while maintaining the overall dynamics. So it turned out that we sacrificed part of the text in favor of a quick climax. And let this song live in our version with shortened verses, not all the same its letter-for-letter repeat.
